Commissioned by the National Museum of Australia in 2018 to design and manufacture a custom point of sale desk and accompanying displaywall for their newly updated retail store.
Drawing inspiration from Dan’s sculptural series, Fragment, the main point of sale desk features two striking folded and crushed structures spanning eight metres, hand fabricated in stainless steel and finished with our unique weathered patina finish. The two sculptural elements are linked with bold horizontal reinforced fibreglass concrete bench tops for additional functional working space.
The display wall comprises of sleek minimal stainless steel shelving allowing the books and cards to prominently seen when displayed. A striking combination of line work divides the backdrop and references the line work in the main point of sale desk. This is further enhanced with shifting tonal colours in each backdrop panel and thin shadow lines separating each unit.
